A Good Read for Parents
The Talent Code my Daniel Coyle is an interesting book that Nick and I (Luke) read some time ago and it only added to our belief that talent is developed; we are not born brilliant footballers, singers, dancers, maths whizz's etc.
It all centres on continuous purposeful practice and the author believes it takes 10,000 hours to become an expert in any skill.
Genetics can play a part but you only need to look at players like Messi, Scholes and Hazard to see you don't need to be born with an 'athletic' build to be the best. Something that has been sadly forgotten for so long within the English game.
Highly recommend it for some bedtime reading!
